We are
gathered here today, to say goodbye to my dear and lovable father. He was loved
by many and he was - to many - a very good friend. He was the most helpful
person you can think of. He always putted everyone before himself and he was
the best father anyone could ever ask for. When my mother called to tell me, silence was there. My brain froze and all I
could hear was my heartbeats. Silence filled up my world.
Great job on using a backwards sentence! It really adds to the funeral mood of the speech. However, the last two sentences sound out of place in a speech, and belong more naturally in another genre, such as the diary.
